Tony Hawk and Catherine "Cathy" Goodman slid right into each other's hearts.
Hawk married his fourth wife, Goodman, in Ireland in June 2015.
"Tying the Celtic knot with my best friend," he captioned a photo with his new bride on their wedding day.
Hawk, who has four children from his previous relationships — Riley, Spencer, Keegan and Kadence — told the Sydney Morning Herald in April 2020 that he and Goodman "connect on a deep level in terms of our approach to life."
"I hate to use the word 'alternative,' but we have a unique approach to parenting," he continued. "We truly enjoy the challenges of raising children, of giving them the tools to make really good choices."
In a 2019 commemorative post for their wedding anniversary, he referred to Goodman as the "quintessential co-parent," writing, "Thank you for this wonderful ride; I never knew a real life could be so fun and rewarding all at once."
So who is Tony Hawk's wife? Here's everything to know about Catherine Goodman and her relationship with the professional skateboarder and entrepreneur.
She is a theater and film producer
Goodman has worked on several film and TV projects as an associate producer, including the 1997 film Digging to China, starring Kevin Bacon and Evan Rachel Wood, along with several episodes of Erotic Confessions and Intimate Sessions. However, her last film credit was 2000's Red Letters.
According to a 2021 profile story in The New York Times, she and Hawk are working on the Broadway musical Slam featuring live skating and previewing on Dec. 31, 2023, per Broadway World.
The musical centers on a 17-year-old skateboarder who unexpectedly gets his girlfriend pregnant and seeks advice through fantasized conversations with Hawk.
She enjoys skateboarding as much as Hawk
Goodman shares the same fondness for skateboarding as Hawk.
On her birthday in 2022, Hawk posted a series of photos of his wife, including one of her on a skateboard, on Instagram.
"Happy Birthday to my precious love. Thank you for the laughs, the adventures, the child nurturing and the understanding of my (our) 4-wheeled obsession," he wrote.
In 2020, Goodman posted some throwback snaps from the '90s, sharing moments of her skating days.
"My friend @68_gtx and I skated with some of the rarest and most incredible skaters known as the Bumheads. This is [the] downtown pool-you could only access it by breaking into an abandon[ed] hotel," she captioned the gallery of black-and-white pictures.
Goodman is also on the advisory board for the nonprofit organization Skateistan, which empowers kids through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa.
She was married to one of Hawk's best friends for 20 years
Goodman was previously married to Matthew Goodman, reportedly one of Hawk's best friends. Years before Goodman and Hawk — who filed for divorce from his third wife, Lhotse Merriam, in 2011 — tied the knot, Matthew told RadarOnline that he was "totally cool" with his friend dating his ex.
"I know people will think it is strange, but I'm totally cool with it," Matthew told the outlet in March 2011. "I had split up with Cathy over a year ago, and she started dating Tony about seven months ago."
Matthew continued, "We are all trying our best to get along. Our kids are all friendly, and we do not want a bad situation — people are making it a bigger deal than it is. I knew Tony was not happy with Lhoste, and I hope he finds that (happiness) with Cathy — they have known each other a long time."
She and Hawk wed in Ireland
As shown in a photo of Hawk kissing Goodman, the couple coordinated in black attire for their wedding on June 27, 2015.
Goodman completed her lace bridal look with a headpiece from AMAROQ Design.
"I felt way too cool in it, and I got to stab people when they tried to hug me … which was a bonus. Amazing work!!!" the newlywed captioned a photo featuring her accessory and bouquet.
Hawk and Goodman's ceremony was held at the Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland. The bride's brother, David, posted about the venue on Instagram.
"The Earl of Dunraven once lived here who is a distant relative of mine. Unreal," he wrote.
She's a mom and stepmom
While the couple do not have any children together, Goodman is mother to sons Miles and Calvin, whom she shares with her ex-husband. The doting mom posted an Instagram tribute to her sons back in 2017.
"Thank you for being mine. I love you. 💕," Goodman captioned a photo of her sons as young boys.
Goodman has revealed that her and Hawk's children "get along."
"It's been refreshing to really realize how well all of our kids get along and how great they are together," she told The New York Times in 2021. "Not all siblings have these dynamic bonds — especially stepsiblings — so we're thankful for that."
She and Hawk went on a road trip with their kids during quarantine
The pair hit the road with their blended family in July 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In the beginning of the pandemic, it became pretty clear that the kids were so desperate to get out," Goodman told The New York Times in 2021.
Hawk, Goodman and their brood road-tripped in an RV, stopping in states they had "never explored," including Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota and Colorado.
"Just finished a Griswold-inspired road trip in the strangest of times," Hawk captioned a family photo on Instagram in 2020. "It is the first summer that I haven't been traveling extensively for 'work' so we decided to visit iconic [non-skate] destinations in the USA as a family. Following Covid guidelines while on a lengthy road trip is a challenge but we made it work (also: no traffic)."
She supported Hawk at the 2022 Oscars
Hawk had his wife by his side as he walked the red carpet with a cane at the 2022 Academy Awards.
The skateboarder, who was on hand to present at the awards show, shared on Instagram in March 2022 that he broke his femur weeks prior to the ceremony.
Reflecting on the evening on March 28, Hawk captioned photos from the "surreal night" on Instagram, which included flicks with Goodman, Shaun White, Bill Murray, Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Troy Kotsur.
"Hiding my limp felt like more of an accomplishment than nailing my lines," he wrote before adding, "Finally strolling the carpet with my stunning wife in our @gucci threads was the best."
