He famously wrote and starred in Swingers, the movie about wannabe actors becoming regulars in the stylish neo-lounge scene, but as a successfully filmmaker today Jon Favreau is unrecognisable as his former self.
Favreau, 47, who was in Austin, Texas to promote his new movie Chef was looking far stockier than usual, clearly growing into his age more naturally than his male and female counterparts.
And maybe he had indulged a little while making the movie about a top chef who gives up his job to open a food truck in Miami.

Swingers: In 1996, Jon was the smooth and slim wannabe actor alongside Vince Vaughn in the cult classic he wrote and produced
In 2007, Jon had managed to lose 85lbs with the help of his wife Joya, a doctor of internal medicine.
‘I finally said to her one day, “I think at my age – I was pushing 40 at the time – that this is not the weight my body wants to be.” And she said, “Well, you can lose weight,” " Favreau told People.
‘I went to Joya because she has always been my partner.’
He went from 290 to 205 lbs by following a diet she prescribed, but it seems Jon’s love for food has caught up with him.

‘I've seen every one of them. I relate,’ the filmmaker told the Hollywood Reporter at SXSW. ‘It's different, I'm in the film business, but you're still dealing with a lot of the same things that they are.
‘And your heart goes out to them, trying to do something unique and being very sure of themselves but by the same token completely hostage to the opinions of their customers.’

Now he’s made his own movie about the world of chefs which he finds so fascinating.
‘[The movie] captures the conundrum of their creative process: people trying to find their voice, a way to fit within the system and yet express their individuality.’
The Iron Man 1 and 2 director has secured a stellar cast for the comedy, with Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Robert Downey Jnr. And Dustin Hoffman all appearing.
But it was Leguizamo who joined Favreau down in Austin for the world premiere of their movie.
